Rich Emery, owner
Rich Emery and his wife, Lynne, started the company in metropolitan Des Moines that is now known as ServiceMaster Green in 1980. Rich is a New York native while Lynne is from Ames, Iowa.
Rich has played a key role within the ServiceMaster National organization. He was elected to serve on the National Franchise Counsel from 2001-2008 and instrumental in the creation of everything from policies, advertising, to quality improvement processes. Rich is a Six Sigma Green Belt. He is currently serving on the Managing Your Risk Committee, focusing on helping franchises across the country by providing best practices for hiring, insurance, business policy creation, OSHA requirement and on-going organizational development. This year he was handpicked to serve on the Delta 1 Foundation, a 501c3 educational corporation formed to preserve the ServiceMaster values, culture and objectives. Rich’s vast experience and exposure at the national level aids in keeping ServiceMaster Green on the forefront of the industry.

Joe Johnson, vice president of marketing and sales
Joe Johnson is responsible for customer relations, sales, employees and all aspects of operations for ServiceMaster Green of Des Moines. He is the primary point of contact for our company’s existing and prospective clients.
Joe has been with ServiceMaster Green since 1996. He is a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native and attended Iowa State University. Joe is the one of two LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional employed by a building maintenance company in the Des Moines area. The other LEED Accredited Professional in the Des Moines area also works for ServiceMaster Green. For you as a customer, dealing with LEED Accredited Professionals means you receive strategic counsel and guidance to enhance your building’s energy usage and minimize your property’s environmental impact. Joe can also show you how green cleaning with ServiceMaster Green of Des Moines enables you to quickly earn up to 43 percent of the required points needed to qualify for LEED Green Building Certification.

Our operations management staff offers building managers courteous and accessible contacts that can answer questions or offer suggestions about the services we provide.
Out in the field, all of our cleaning crews work under the direction of crew supervisors. These team members have been promoted into supervisory roles because of their commitment to excellence and ensuring that the job is done right. ServiceMaster Green of Des Moines currently employs nearly 100 supervisors – or one for every three to four employees – and the supervisors’ average tenure with our company is more than three years.
